Collect A Debt (Pty) Ltd. was established on 1 March 2009 as a result of our Director, Mrs Riana Ferreira’s vision to establish a full inclusive debt collection company encompassing all the processes from invoice to judgement. It sprung to life due to her extensive knowledge, skill and experience in the industry spanning over more than 28 years.
We have built the business on a single, simple and essential concept that “if we can’t collect – nobody else can collect!”
Since its establishment we have significantly expanded while enjoying extensive growth in the quality and variety of services offered. We have positioned Collect A Debt as a debt recovery expert in the industry due to an experienced management team and most sophisticated technology in die industry.

Democracy in South Africa brought with it the enormous challenges of mapping a new growth path for South Africa and so the debt collection industry was also transformed with the establishment of the Debt Collectors Act 114 of 1998.
Our Director, Mrs. Riana Ferreira, has more than 28 years of debt collection experience and has achieved the highest accolade by being appointed by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development to serve as the only woman representing debt collectors on
the Council for Debt Collectors for about 13 years serving both on the Audit and Disciplinary Committees.

The debt collection industry was also transformed with the establishment of the Debt Collectors Act 114 of 1998, and the establishment of the regulatory authority, The Council for Debt Collectors. All put into place to regulate debt collectors.
The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development appointed Riana Ferreira, the current Managing Director of Collect A Debt (Pty) Ltd, to serve as the first woman representing debt collectors on the Council for Debt Collectors in 1998. Various Honourable Ministers (MP) have re-appointed Riana to the board in 2000, 2003, 2006 and 2009, completing her 13-year term as a member of the Council, the Audit Committee and the Disciplinary Committee.
